Almost thirty years ago when we arrived at the hotel, I wanted to get everything out of the car and into the room. He did not. A few weeks ago we stayed at a hotel and HE wanted everything out of the car and into the room.  I did not.  But I didn't care.  We took all the luggage and trinkets into the room.

Last week he made pbj sandwiches for us.  I was surprised to see that he did not make them as he instructed me to 30 years ago.

He no longer works on home projects from sun-up to sundown.  He goes back to bed after breakfast for about an hour.  About two hours before sundown he quits working.  I'm not used to it.  I've heard rumors about when husbands retire.  He doesn't want to retire until 2015.

I don't have to make a "honey do" list for him.  He makes his own.  Did I already say that? He spoils me.

Dog House

In July of 2011 he built a tremendous dog house for our 3 dogs for the winter. It's 4'x4'x8' with 3 windows and insulation. We had to use the tractor to drag it out of the workshop and into the yard.
The back will be closed and the two screened windows will be covered when winter arrives. A doggy door will allow them to go in and out.

Sunday School lesson

We read the Sunday School lesson on Saturday evenings; even when he has to work Sundays.
I go to Sunday School at the nursing home and if he's nearby at the right time; he'll drop in to sing a hymn with us.

Sermon walk out.

He agreed with my walking out on a sermon that I found offensive.  So that makes 2 out of about 50. I think there may be one more.  Are we wrong or is everyone else?  I think about Joshua and Caleb at times like these.

He's still using his tractor.  He cut down 6 trees Saturday and used the tractor to drag them to the brush pile.  Had to put a new starter on the tractor.  Now he thinks it's a 6 volt starter on a 12 volt system.  Or a 12 volt starter on a 6 volt system.  He'll make a few phone calls to learn if he needs to change something.
He continues to spoil me.  Making and packing his lunch may be the most difficult thing I do.  Now he wants a little lemon pepper sprinkled on his tuna sandwich.  His cup of fruit has increased to walnuts and a little splash of apple juice.
We pray together almost every evening.  Currently he has to work Sundays.  But we continue to go to the nursing home once a week to help with Bingo.

BINGO

This afternoon we were at the nursing home by 2:00 to help with BINGO. There are 5 combinations to win and the 5th one is blackout. He helped me clean tables and helped a lady with poor vision play BINGO. After it was over he helped pickup BINGO cards and markers. We try to do this every week.
