Fourth of July celebration on the third
My friend invited us to her house for eats and firworks Saturday the third. I didn't know who or how many people would be there. My husband was spraying trees when I left and would come later. I was glad that he was coming because he doesn't usually go to gatherings like that because he doesn't enjoy such things. There were about 15 people there when I arrived. He came about an hour later. He was very tired from working in the heat and spraying 6 tall trees. He stayed about 20 minutes then went home to bed. It was a great sacrifice for him to come to the party and he did it just for me.
My son was there. I don't see much of him. He's either at work, asleep or out. He was shooting off fireworks with his friends while we watched. I think 28 people eventually showed up. I didn't get home till midnight. I had a hard time getting up the next morning. When I did, my husband was just leaving for work. He didn't expect me to get up to pack his lunch; he let me sleep. He's such a great guy.

Sunday's lunch
I met him for lunch at Braum's. He has to work Sundays for a while. He got his usual banana split. I got a spoon for a few bites and he said there was almonds in it. He scraped them off one side but almonds give me a PaiN so I didn't have any of his ice cream. He said he would get it with pecans from now on. I said no, he should get what he wants. We'll find out next week.
Monday I bought a pair of rooster bookends and a set of 3 boxes that nest inside each other. The boxes have purple tulips on them. I put some of my treasures in them. That's stuff that's mostly useless but you like it too much to throw away or give away. He thought it was kinda silly but he didn't complain.

Our Anniversary
He was off this year for our anniversary. We ate breakfast at Braum's then played tennis for awhile. Shopped at Wal-Mart next and got to see our son at work there. Back home we worked on my little table project. I added some more to the WW2 shadow box I'm making for my dad. For lunch we went to Amateur Radio Field Day 30 miles away. They cook hamburgers and hot dogs for anyone that shows up. Visited for about an hour then went window shopping at an outdoor mall. Had cookies and coffee at Heavenly Buns. He bought a part at a tractor supply store then we went to a movie. 80 days around the world starring Jackie Chan. I don't remember the exact title. It was a fun movie. Next we headed west for a Jazz and Blues Festival but it was rained out. Ate again at a Mexican Restaurant. I ordered a chili relleno not knowing what it was. At first it wasn't hot but it began getting hotter. I finally had to give up. It was our best anniversary yet.

Saturday
He and I went out to breakfast Saturday morning. Then we went to his office and worked on a computer program for about 4 hours. Lunch at Subway. I found a JCPenney sale paper; 4 hour sale-one day only. He said go buy something. I don't need anything, but it was nice of him to offer. I want to finish my wood projects before I start something new. He's a big help because he's had so much more experience working with wood.
When he comes home from work he always has a big smile for me and says something cute.

Near perfect husband
My husband is the best thing that ever happened to me. We've been married over 20 years. Everyday he makes me laugh. Everyday he puts up with my low moods. He just keeps on loving me. I'm trying to be more like him.
