Doll sized chairs

We were in a store called Big Lots on one of his days off last week. I had been looking at some small furniture (less than 18 inches tall) for displaying some of my stuffed animals that I can't let go from the 1960's. We have scrap lumber around the workshop and I thought I might make a chair. I asked him to look at the furniture in the store to find out if we could make it for less than buying it new. I picked up a bench and he examined 3 other pieces. He said that we couldn't make them that cheaply. He picked up the rocking chair and said that we might as well get two pieces. I carried the bench and he carried the rocking chair. He said that I seldom spend money on silly stuff so enjoy it.
Right now the furniture has Beanie Babies on it until I find my animals in one of the 50 boxes in the workshop. The furniture is unfinished so this fall when it is cooler I will stain it or paint it in the workshop. He's such a sweetie!

his birthday

Duane's birthday was this week. He didn't want any gifts and never does. If I ever buy him anything it's Reese's peanutbutter cups. This year I just gave him a neat card that he seemed to really like. His favorite thing to do is eat breakfast out. He went to Braum's and had a banana split after breakfast. His job kept him from having his choice for lunch. After work he had more ice cream. Then he went to the workshop to work on some project. That's how he likes to celebrate his birthday. He's 55.
Our computer was out of order for about a week and I helped our two children get started in their college classes; paid for books and fees so I hadn't been here in a while.
