Company Christmas Dinner

Saturday night he took me to his company dinner. He ate prime rib. I ate salmon. It was very good. When the dessert was offered he chose Pecan Delight. We weren't sure what it was. I chose plain cheesecake. I'm trying to keep my sugar intake down. Pecan Delight was cheese cake with a dark cookie crumb crust and pecans in syrup on top. I had one bite of the Pecan Delight. MMMMMM. My plain cheese cake was very good too. We didn't stay long after dessert. He does not enjoy these events but is willing to take me once a year at Christmas. What a sweetie!

nursing home then grocery shopping

Last night he had to visit the nursing home alone. I was too sick. Our daughter was at a Christmas party. After he visited some folks at the nursing home he bought some groceries. He came home with several things for me that he thought I would like. There was a can of chicken noodle soup, sugar free throat lozenges, sunflower seeds, Dimetapp and corn chex. That may sound boring, but he was thinking of me and that's what is so great about him. He thinks of me often.

He was called out.

He had just returned to bed after trying to make the dogs outside be quiet when he was called out to take care of a compressor in the oil field. It was 4:15 a.m. He dressed and left. He returned about 6:00 for breakfast and I packed his lunch. This is the day that we visit friends at a local nursing home in the evening. I was at the church until almost 4:30 this afternoon. I called home and he was there. He asked me to go to the nursing home alone because he was very tired. But he wanted to hear all about my day when I got home. I visited our friends and bought a few groceries. When I got home he was reading in bed. He put his book down and listened to me go on and on about my day of sorting music and calibrating my printer. He didn't go to sleep until after I left the room about 8:00. I was too wound up to go to sleep. So here I am writing in my blog.
