Taking care of us
He spends a lot of time keeping our cars running like they're supposed to run and keeping the house in good repair and all the other gadgets around here. I keep telling myself it's because he loves us but it sure does take a lot of his time. I join him sometimes when he is making repairs. His latest project was advanced health care directives for all of us. He's been wanting to do it for years. He got forms for all four of us from the hospital. A few weeks later we all met at the bank after our various jobs. I didn't know we were meeting to sign the directives in front of witnesses. I thought we were there for something else. I and my daughter didn't have our directives. He and my son had theirs. They were signed and notarized. A few days later I made copies for him. We put the originals in the fireproof safe that has no valuables in it; just papers like health care directives. He cares so much for us that he went through the boring process of getting those papers and filling them out. Everyone should be so lucky.

'95 Taurus sedan
We had been talking about finding a car to replace my '92 Taurus station wagon that has over 180,000 miles on it. On the 22nd we saw parked by the road a new looking Taurus sedan with a for sale sign in the window. Later we called the phone number. The car had less than 65,000 miles on it. We bought it the next day. It's super clean and in excellent shape. Now we are planning to give the '85 Tempo to a friend whose work vehicle is dying. The Tempo runs good. My husband is an excellent mechanic and a great believer in preventive maintenance. He'll drive the station wagon to work.
