Life with Duane

He finally got two full days off after working a lot of overtime. We spent the first day shopping in Shawnee almost all day. We also visited our friend in the Care Center. She is doing much better there. The next day off was spent in our town and another town in the opposite direction of Shawnee. He enjoys window shopping much more than I do. I guess most guys don't like to window shop. I don't like it usually unless I have something specific in mind and I'm not rushed.

This weekend we are expecting company for the first time in a long time. They'll spend two nights. It's a friend of our son. His girlfriend is coming too. They will have separate bedrooms. The friend is going to Kosovo soon for 18 months. He's been away from this area for a few years and wanted to see some people before he left the country.

He worked 14 hours in 100 degree weather. When he got home he watered his fruit trees. He finally came in the house. I was lying on the bed reading. He was so excited about the job application he sent in a few days ago that he just talked and talked about how much better it might be with this other company. I thought he'd be so tired he would shower and go straight to bed. It seems that most men don't talk from what I've read and heard. I read an article in a recent issue of O about how to get your man to talk. That's not a problem for us.

He started replacing the south shower/bathtub with just a shower shortly after we returned from Oregon. Now we are waiting for the shower door that we ordered. It's hard for him to wait to finish a project. He's had to work too much lately. Someone at his job is on vacation so he has to work 14 days straight to cover for them. Someone had to fill in for him while he was on vaction too. I guess it all works out.
He brought me a dozen roses for our anniversary. I made him an apple pie from scratch using apples from our own trees.
We were invited to three 4th of July parties. He probably won't go to any of them. I went to one last night. I'll go to one tonight which is at the same time as the 3rd one. So I have to skip one.
