Shopped most of the day

He knew he would be off Thursday and decided we would go to the city. He made an appointment for an eye examination for Lasik surgery. Our daughter went with us. We left the house by 5:30 for breakfast at Cracker Barrel in a nearby town. On the edge of the city we got caught in slow traffic, took an exit and tried to go a different way. We were still 15 minutes late. The eye center folks seem to be used to that. We filled out three papers then watched a video. Next he was taken to another room while I went back to the lobby to wait with my daughter. After about 30 minutes we wandered outside. There were several shops around but none that really interested us. At 11:00 he was through and they'll call him in 6 months. We ate lunch at Arby's then went to Sears. My daughter and I shopped in the nearby Dillards. I bought a top and she bought a skirt and top; all at clearance prices. We started for home. Stopped in the same town that the Cracker Barrel was in and went to that mall. He shopped in Wal-Mart Supercenter. She and I found Dollar Tree. I got a harmonica and a case for a dollar. I bought it for the case thinking the harmonica would be really bad, but it wasn't! It sounds as good as the more expensive ones. My husband bought a 3 ton floor jack for $68. He said it was a good deal. I didn't argue with him. He never says anything about my silly purchases. Tonight we are going to a friend's birthday party. He hates parties but he's going just to please his friend. I was hoping he'd go to the True Love Waits banquet tomorrow night with our daughter and me but I understand his dislike of such social functions. We'll go to the company party at Christmas and no other parties. He encourages me to go to lots of stuff. Usually it's with other women so I don't miss him; but I do hurry home. He's my hero.
