feeding tubes
It seems that he and I disagree about the Schiavo case. But it came down to whether she's really "there" or not. Then "there" has to be defined and it means so many different things to different people. He gets most of his info from the secular news radio stations. I get most of my info from Christian radio and Christian email newsletters. We were not hearing the same thing.
It could be the same with abortion. Instead of debating whether abortion is right or wrong; the debate should be about when life begins.
At the nursing home we visit there is a 90+ year old woman that has a feeding tube that was surgically inserted in her stomach. She doesn't know what it is. She can eat by mouth if someone feeds her but she won't let anyone (as far as I know). In 5 years I've seen family members there twice. She can't see well enough to feed herself much. She's gained a lot of weight in the past few months. We seldom see her out of bed. She is always cheerful and laughs at us when we say something funny.
